Commitment to Community
How can real estate do good in our community? How can it help regular people who don’t have access to exorbitant amounts of wealth maximize their opportunities? How can real estate help in shaping a more equitable, livable, joyful, healthy future for our friends, families, and neighbors?
Though these questions are too big for one small brokerage to answer in their entirety, we want to do our part.
Cloud City focuses on local businesses and local building owners and investors who love their businesses, their buildings, and their roles in community.
Good things are happening in Portland. Creative, dedicated, hard-working people from all walks of life are creating new models that challenge the status quo, push against limits, and open space for more voices.
We want to be a part of that. And our clients do too.
Our 10 Guiding Principles
Our work is guided by a set of principles that we bring to every interaction.
1) We take a slightly obsessive approach to knowledge about what we do. We can’t get enough information, and we love to share.
2) We never underestimate the power of insight + instinct - compliments to reason and logic - to bridge the gap between the conscious and unconscious parts of our thinking.
3) We do wealth-building for regular folks. Our business relationships hinge on our shared entrepreneurial spirit. We help local building and business owners become more profitable by giving them the high-quality, high-touch service they deserve.
4) We’re inspired by our community. We’re good citizens. Portland is not just where we do business. It’s our home, where we live, love, and play.
5) Integrity means the world to us. Relationships built on honesty, trust, transparency, and strong ethics are the most satisfying and often the most profitable.
6) Real estate transactions are complicated, and we want our clients to be well-informed. Communication and collaboration are key aspects in showing our client respect and empowering them in the process.
7) We’ll be ourselves. You be yourself. We believe authenticity is better for everyone.
8) Diversity = thriving communities and economies. Engaging with different people, ideas, strengths, interests, perspectives, and experiences makes us all better. We strengthen ourselves with diversity: a diverse economy is a robust economy. A diverse community is a powerful community.
9) It’s an honor and privilege that our clients entrust us with their resources. We strive for excellence in our stewardship of their businesses, buildings, and spaces in addition to being good stewards of the natural world.
10) It’s inevitable. Cities change and grow. We value courageous leadership to help shape the future of Portland. This is not just elected officials. This is you. We’re aimed at the future.

After which, he operated his own successful small business, with multiple locations. His journey led him back to real estate where he can integrate his decades of knowledge serving Portland.
